Since the time when this project was last updated (2014), many things have changed in the world and we are assisting to a dramatic increase in the number of the refugees trying to get through Europe doors, that meanwhile are becoming smaller and smaller.
I'm very well aware that our european society is faced with new, difficult challenges but with this project I would still like to dream about Europe as an open land that can be home for those who are looking for a better life as well as for those who are running away from the war.

"Till now, whether I didn't find the place I feel like staying forever or I don't have this feeling in myself, like…I'm not sure but I do not wanna stay in a place for such a long time, because I want to discover more."
"I discovered since I am traveling that I am not really focussed locally on anything, I am just spontaneously enjoying whatever it's around me."
Why did you move abroad? Why in Berlin?
Since last five years I am wondering what do I like the most about being abroad. Is is the charm of travelling I cannot live without? Unlimited number of different people we never stop meeting and making ourselves richer? Or exceeding our own potential of adaptation and understanding what the real tolerance is about?
Berlin?....because it is like
Being
Entirely
Living
In
Nostalgy
Is there any characteristic, you can identify as peculiar of your country, you miss?
Being Czech
If you look back at your life in your country, do you see improvement that justify your moving abroad? Or, do you see improvement chances?
Not looking back is for me one big self improvement.
Do you feel integrated in the German society? In the Berliner one?
From my observation even the "german" Berliner society is a mosaic of diverse people from all parts of Germany escaping out of their traditional and conservative german life so different to freedom hanging everywhere in Berliner air and that may be why the integration of people from abroad here is more natural and accepted than anywhere else in Germany.
What does the work represent and mean to you?
Slavery ...literally.
What does this specific job mean to you?
Opportunity to make real one of my dreams and to be in Berlin the time I feel free to stay.
Has anything changed of your approach to work since you work in a Call Center?
More than my approach to work it has been my communication behavior in my personal life with phobic feeling and being uncomfortable with my beloved ones on the phone as the real contact disappears and is replaced by cold Hi-tech.
Martina was born in a small industrial town close to Prague where she took a Bachelor degree of French language. After the degree she has moved to Asia, where she spent some time traveling and then moved to India where she lived for about one year.
When interview and pictures were taken Martina was still working as customer service agent, until the day she just did not show up at work.
The journey goes on.
