Felix

deutsch

"Here in Germany I feel I am a human: I can say no.

I feel free to do anything, I can talk to my friends about any topic or I can go to a restaurant and order something I like: these are things I want in my life, and there in Hong Kong I felt as a dying plant."

Why did you move abroad? Why in Berlin?

Because of my ex boyfriend.

Is there any characteristic, you can identify as peculiar of your country, you miss?

Food and cheap shops.

If you look back at your life in your country, do you see improvement that justify your moving abroad? Or, do you see improvement chances?

No, no freedom and no human rights.

Do you feel integrated in the German society? In the Berliner one?

Not really, still need some time.

What does the work represent and mean to you?

To survive.

What does this specific job mean to you?

Nothing.

Has anything changed of your approach to work since you work in a Call Center?

I have learnt how to calm down and analysis skills.

Felix was born in Hong Kong where she used to be a fashion merchandiser.

She has lived in Australia for two years doing several different jobs and traveling through its national parks. 2012 she moves to Germany where she is now struggling for the visa because her work in the customer service is considered not strategic for the economic growth.

Therefore Felix can be easily replaced.
